Tak vznikla nová společenská smlouva: Občan odevzdal státu všechna svá práva a oplátkou za to stát garantoval občanovi skromné živobytí s tím, že po něm skoro nic nechtěl. Stabilita statu quo závisela na této podivné smlouvě. Jakmile ale jedna strana dohody tuto rovnováhu naruší, dojde k výbuchu (viz Polsko r. 1970).
Vzniká aliance prostřednictvím filmů, které odhalují podstatu této společenské smlouvy, demystifikují společnost a odhalují ideologii."

Some points to think about
How have historical and political conditions impacted on the domestic lives of
individuals (subjects)?
And more particularly, how does this affect the relationship of the couple, Ludvík and Anna? The enemy within?
‘Once its ideology began to disintegrate, the neo-Stalinist state started to depoliticize society. And it was successful. The citizen concentrated
fully on his own privacy, on his own personal concerns. His only demand upon society was that he be given guaranteed, if not extensive, financial means to live his private life, and that he not be asked to exert too great an effort in exchange. Thus a new sort of social contract was concluded: the citizen gave the state all of his rights and, in exchange, the state guaranteed its citizen a modest livelihood at the cost of a minimum depletion of his strength, his manpower. The equilibrium of the status quo rests on this strange contract. As soon as one of the parties to the contract upsets this equilibrium, an explosion results (e.g., Poland in 1970).
